Opa Paul erzählt einzig seinem Enkel, dem Regisseur, von seiner Kindheit – von der Flucht aus Schlesien, im heutigen Polen. Er äussert den Wunsch nach einem Schlüssel aus seiner Heimat, egal welchen, bloss alt soll er sein. Am Geburtsort seines Grossvaters angekommen, trifft der Enkel auf Räume, die sich einer Öffnung nur scheinbar widersetzen.
Grandpa Paul talks to nobody but his grandson, the director, about his childhood – and fleeing from Silesia, in today’s Poland. He wishes to have a key from home, any key as long as it’s old. Arriving at his grandfather’s town of birth, the grandson encounters rooms that only seem to resist opening.
